There are many types of meditation. Deborah leads nonreligious guided "visualizations" in a private or group setting. Depending on the desires of the participants, the meditation can be for relaxing and/or clearing the mind, or there can be specific or general goals. This type of meditation is especially useful for those who have difficulty meditating, and is also beneficial for the experienced meditator. It is not necessary to be able to visualize - one can imagine or just follow along to have a healing experience. Benefit is achieved even when a person's mind wanders or falls asleep as it has been shown that the subconscious mind is aware and even more powerful than the conscious mind. Each session is unique and usually depends on the needs of the meditator(s), either described or intuited. Sessions include some preparation such as Breath, Yoga, and Chanting. If desired there may also be discussion and guidance about the experience, the goals of the meditator(s), and/or developing a personal practice. Preferred length of a private session is at least 1.5 hrs.
